Water quality issues or reduced heating performance	Kettle needs descaling (after every 25 uses)	Descale the kettle using appropriate descaling agent. Do not use vinegar, vinegar essence or citric acid. Follow instructions on the descaling agent package
Water tastes unusual or has odor	First use or device needs cleaning	For initial use, boil water to the maximum mark, let it cool, and discard. Do not use this water for consumption or other purposes
